BMC Biology is an open access, online journal publishing research articles after full peer review. All articles are published, without barriers to access, immediately upon acceptance. The journal is published by BioMed Central Ltd, Middlesex House, 34-42 Cleveland Street, London W1T 4LB, UK.

BMC Biology publishes original research articles and methodology articles in any area of biology but with a focus on the biomedical sciences. The fields covered include biochemistry, cell biology, chemical biology, computational biology, developmental biology, ecology, evolutionary biology, genetics, genomics, immunology, microbiology, molecular biology, neurobiology, pharmacology, physiology, plant biology and structural biology.
