This award-winning microbiology and immunology online textbook is based on a University of South Carolina School of Medicine course for second-year medical students. The hypertext contains five central parts under the following major themes: Immunology, Bacteriology, Virology, Parasitology, and Mycology. The separate parts are composed of numerous chapters addressing important aspects of the aforementioned themes. The site also offers several quizzes, a Virus Glossary, and many related links. In addition, many chapters are accompanied by auxiliary PowerPoint slide files
and downloadable documents (some of which are password protected). It should be noted that for some users PowerPoint files may be difficult to download due to their considerable size. [NL]
