New England Journal of Medicine Online (NEJM) site license for the University of Connecticut is now operational.
Online access is from v.328 (1993)-- to-- v.350:no.13 (2004:March 25) -- this is the most current issue
online and is updated weekly.

Science Direct backfiles

Electronic availability, for green flagged Science Direct titles, is from 1995 - to current volumes only.
UCHC and UCONN have not purchased the complete backfiles, although the contents are listed on the e-journal platform.
Users are requested to use Document Delivery for missing issues and the print volumes housed in the journal stacks.

The entire backfile of the Journal of General Physiology has been loaded onto the Highwire Press e-journal platform. A subscription is necessary for the most recent issues, however, the entire backfile has been released into Open Access for all.

The IDEAL titles on the ScienceDirect e-journal platform are now accessible.

We have just been denied online access to the most recent issues, although many of the back issues are still working.
The publisher has changed from Oxford UP to Nature Publishing Group in 2004. There is a NERL contract, in cooperation with UCOONN Storrs, being negotiated, so access should be back up shortly.

In the meantime, the library will provide this article for you on Document Delivery (free) so that you may have it for your work.

Quintessence journals

Noted today, that for Quintessence journals, IE6 (Internet Explorer 6) is not displaying dropdown menus and many important navigational headers. This has been noted from the Reference Desk computer and a UCHC users computer.

The old IDEAL e-journal platform, currently owned by Elsevier with online access provided thru the ScienceDirect e-journal platform has been down for several days The publisher had promised to fix what they call a " technical problem" by this morning, but as of 2pm, UCHC is still not operational.
Below is the list of titles that are affected.
Please assure faculty, that urgent article needs will be filled by Document Delivery.

Since Schattauer Publishers is in Stuttgart, Germany, and they have all already gone home for the day, we will not be able to get reregistered until Monday at the earliest.
